Pelotonia hosts a three-day experience as a centerpiece of its year-round fundraising efforts for innovative cancer research. Ride Weekend kicks off Friday with Opening Ceremony at McPherson Commons Park and continues Saturday and Sunday with a range of cycling options through Central Ohio. Participants can register as a Rider, Volunteer, or Challenger. You can also support by cheering on Riders along the route or donating to a participant's fundraising efforts. Columbus Recreation and Parks is partnering for the second year with the Columbus Symphony for the Columbus Symphony Community Concerts! The Community Concert series is a week of FREE symphony performances across local community centers and parks. The full symphony provides a family-friendly performance with music ranging from orchestral classics to pop and movie hits. Performances will begin at 7 p.m. and last approximately one hour. Admission is free. All seating is general admission, lawn seating. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks.

Visit the Blacklick Woods Nature Center to make a S'more and enjoy a campfire to celebrate Campfire Day. The first Saturday in August is forever proclaimed to be Campfire Day and Night. The holiday was created in 2017 by Bob Matthews of Rochester N.Y., and author of Holiday Insights.com. In researching holidays for over a dozen years, Bob was simply amazed that no one had created a day to celebrate and appreciate campfires. Boom, done.
